KOVA is a contemporary furniture brand focused on combining craftsmanship with modern design. The brand aims to create furniture pieces that reflect durability, natural materials, and thoughtful design.

The objective of the project was to develop a visual identity that captures the essence of furniture craftsmanship while maintaining a modern and minimal aesthetic. The identity needed to feel refined, reliable, and adaptable across furniture tags, packaging, showrooms, and digital platforms.

The goal was to create a distinctive mark that communicates both material authenticity and strong brand recognition.

DESIGN CHALLENGE:

The primary challenge was to create a brand identity that captures the essence of movement and storytelling without relying on overused industry symbols such as play icons, film reels, or generic motion graphics elements.

The identity needed to:

• Communicate creativity and visual energy

• Reflect motion and transformation

• Maintain clarity and scalability across digital media

• Stand distinct within a competitive creative industry

The brand had to feel expressive yet structured — artistic but credible.

CREATIVE APPROACH & THINKING:

The creative direction for KOVA was built around the idea of material expression through form.

The logo features a custom letter K constructed using flowing organic lines inspired by natural wood grain patterns. These lines reflect the texture and character found in wooden materials, symbolizing craftsmanship, authenticity, and the natural origins of furniture making.

By integrating wood-like patterns directly into the letterform, the identity visually connects the brand with the material it represents. The structured square frame provides balance and stability, reinforcing the brand’s association with durability and solid construction.

The result is a distinctive and meaningful mark that reflects the harmony between natural materials and modern furniture design.
